Job Summary

JEO Consulting is seeking a dedicated and experienced IT Support Specialist to join our dynamic IT support team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing advanced technical support to our clients and internal staff, resolving complex IT issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of our IT systems.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Technical Support:
    • Provide second-level support to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
    • Assist with the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of IT equipment, including desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
    • Handle escalated issues and ensure timely resolution.
  • System Maintenance and Administration:
    • Perform routine maintenance and updates on IT systems.
    • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
    • Assist with the administration of user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Document all support activities, including troubleshooting steps and resolutions, in the help desk ticketing system.
    • Generate reports on support activities, including common issues and resolution times.
    • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical documentation and knowledge base articles.
  • Customer Service:
    • Provide exceptional customer service and ensure a positive user experience.
    • Communicate effectively with users to understand their issues and provide clear, concise guidance.
    • Follow up with users to ensure issues are fully resolved and prevent recurrence.
    • Be willing to visit with end-users face-to-face
  • Training and Development:
    • Assist in training Help Desk technicians and end-users on new technologies and best practices.
    • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to provide up-to-date support.
    • Present onboarding presentations for new hires.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Associate degree in Information Technology or equivalent, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Windows operating systems. MacOS experience a plus.
  • Experience with Active Directory, Office 365, and common enterprise applications.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Familiarity with mobile device management (MDM) is a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Entra/O365 management
  • Knowledge of security best practices and experience with antivirus and anti-malware solutions.
  • Familiarity with remote desktop applications and help desk software.
